I Found A Fish!

I Found A Fish! At the museum of Natural Science I worked in the Paleontology Department. I was tasked to fossil prep this fish (I named him Kyle). I'm not going to lie... I was terrified I was going to accidentally break into bone. I found the spine and when fossil prepping you get a toothbrush and douse it in water and then you scrub the bone so you can get the stone can break down easier when you start poking at it with dentist pics. I only got to get to the spine but in picture three you can see the start of Kyle's back fin and there is flusters of his head. It looks like his head was crushed. Picture one is me using a pen to detail the spine. picture two is my work space, the white tube will suck up all the stone that I broke off to make the bone clean. You have to use a microscope to see the bone in detail which is really important when fossil prepping. Overall a great day at the paleo lab!
